Company History

Over the years, FX Group has evolved and grown. But our goal has always been the same: to provide the best solutions coupled with industry-leading customer service.

FX was founded in 1986, initially providing scenic and lighting services for corporate meetings and events as well as theatre. The company soon expanded into fabrication and design services for broadcast television clients.

In 1996, FX purchased its current home located just outside of Orlando, Fla. The facility has been expanded several times and now totals over 50,000 square feet — nearly the size of two football fields.

FX's centralized operations are key to the company's ability to deliver the industry's only truly turnkey, custom solution for scenery and lighting. Within this facility, the design studio housing FX’s set, graphics and lighting designers as well as lighting systems integrator are adjacent to the in-house carpentry, laminate and paint shops. This co-location and synergy allow FX to control the cost, communication and delivery of every stage of every project.

In 2008, with its lighting business growing, FX Group Lighting was designated as a separate division. With the recent addition of lighting systems integration, our staff of lighting experts can conveniently and cost-effectively offer clients a full range of the best lighting gear and systems in the industry.

Since 1986, FX has built an impressive and varied portfolio. FX's work has been honored with multiple Emmy Awards and five Broadcast Design Association Awards for set and lighting design.

FX employs 28 experienced staff and designers as well as expert craftsmen — many of whom have worked at FX for over 10 years, providing valuable depth of experience and extreme dedication to excellence and service for which FX Group and FX Group Lighting are well-known.
